Romania (X tons), Lebanon (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main destinations of gypsum, anhydrite and limestone exports from Greece, together accounting for 100% of total exports.

In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of gypsum, anhydrite and limestone, when their volume increased by 43% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, faced a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 54% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, gypsum, anhydrite and limestone imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

North Macedonia (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main suppliers of gypsum, anhydrite and limestone imports to Greece, together accounting for 67% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +119.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
