Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Germany (X tons), Cyprus (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of inactive yeast exports from Greece, with a combined 60% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Bulgaria, Albania, Romania and the UK, which together accounted for a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Albania (with a CAGR of +138.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 54%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, inactive yeast imports dropped notably to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 41%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Russia (X tons), France (X tons) and Ukraine (X tons) were the main suppliers of inactive yeast imports to Greece, together comprising 62% of total imports.

From 2015 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
