For the fourth year in a row, the Greek market for jams, jellies, puree and pastes recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -0.7% to $X in 2021. In general, the total consumption indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption decreased by -14.6% against 2017 indices. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, the largest markets for jam, jelly, puree and paste exported from Greece were Russia ($X), the United States ($X) and Guatemala ($X), together comprising 26% of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, Guatemala, with a CAGR of +46.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average export price for jams, jellies, puree and pastes amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 38% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, approx. X tons of jams, jellies, puree and pastes were imported into Greece; jumping by 43% compared with 2020 figures. Overall, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. France (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of jam, jelly, puree and paste imports to Greece, together accounting for 52% of total imports. South Africa, Italy, Iran and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
