South Korea (X tons) was the main destination for lead ore exports from Greece, accounting for a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, lead ore exports to South Korea exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by China (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to South Korea amounted to +3.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+10.8% per year) and China (-23.5% per year).
In value terms, South Korea ($X) remains the key foreign market for lead ore exports from Greece, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Spain, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to South Korea amounted to +8.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+18.9% per year) and Spain (0.0% per year).

The average lead ore export price stood at $X per ton in 2019, with a decrease of -9.1% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 18%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In 2019, the countries with the highest prices were Spain ($X per ton) and South Korea ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per ton) and China ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

In 2019, the amount of lead ores imported into Greece skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 30% on the year before. In general, imports, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2019, imports failed to regain momentum.
