The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Bulgaria (X tons), Cyprus (X tons) and Albania (X tons) were the main destinations of lettuce and chicory exports from Greece, together accounting for 74% of total exports. Serbia, Poland, Romania, Norway and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 20%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +102.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Greece
In 2022, approx. X tons of lettuce and chicory were imported into Greece; growing by 18% against 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 94%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
