In value terms, North Macedonia ($X) remains the key foreign market for lime exports from Greece, comprising 64% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Albania ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Kosovo, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to North Macedonia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Albania (+15.1% per year) and Kosovo (-55.9% per year).

The average lime export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 8.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, lime imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted a strong expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
