Imports into Greece
In 2022, the amount of mangoes, mangosteens and guavas imported into Greece expanded rapidly to X tons, with an increase of 6.8% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +22.0% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 35% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mango and mangosteen imports rose to $X in 2022. Overall, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 36%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest mango and mangosteen supplier to Greece, with a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, mango and mangosteen imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), eightfold.
