In value terms, non-cellular polystyrene film exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 222% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

Cyprus (X tons), Mexico (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main destinations of non-cellular polystyrene film exports from Greece, together accounting for 85% of total exports.

Overall, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-cellular polystyrene film imports shrank notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 93% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-cellular polystyrene film to Greece, with a 48% share of total imports. Moreover, non-cellular polystyrene film imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. Turkey (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.2% share.
