The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +48.5% against 2018 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-cellular polyethylene film exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +79.7% against 2017 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of non-cellular polyethylene film exports from Greece, with a combined 30% share of total exports. Mexico, Spain, Italy, Romania, the United States, the UK, Cyprus, China, Poland and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United States (with a CAGR of +28.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Cyprus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +139.8% against 2012 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 28%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, non-cellular polyethylene film imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +11.5% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 47%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Italy (X tons), Turkey (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-cellular polyethylene film imports to Greece, with a combined 58% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, Israel, France, China and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 34%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Bulgaria (with a CAGR of +39.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
