The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, thiosulphates exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a precipitous setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 6,081% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Albania (X kg) was the main destination for thiosulphates exports from Greece, with a 77% share of total exports. Moreover, thiosulphates exports to Albania exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Finland (X kg), threefold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Albania stood at +26.8%.
In value terms, Albania ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for thiosulphates exports from Greece, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Finland ($X), with a 7.9% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Albania stood at +44.4%.

The average thiosulphates export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 62% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of 64% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Albania ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland stood at $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (+32.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Greece
In 2021, supplies from abroad of thiosulphates decreased by -11.1% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after three years of growth. In general, imports, however, saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 123%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, thiosulphates imports expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 126% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Belgium (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of thiosulphates imports to Greece, with a combined 81% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, the Netherlands and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +106.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), Italy ($X) and Germany ($X) were the largest thiosulphates suppliers to Greece, with a combined 72% share of total imports. Bulgaria, France and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
In terms of the main suppliers, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +85.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average thiosulphates import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 23% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
