In value terms, vulcanised rubber thread exports shrank notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 657%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Belgium (X tons) was the main destination for vulcanised rubber thread exports from Greece, with a 40% share of total exports. Moreover, vulcanised rubber thread exports to Belgium exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bulgaria (X tons), threefold. Madagascar (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 14% share.

Overall, total imports indicated noticeable growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -16.4% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 25%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, vulcanised rubber thread imports amounted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a remarkable increase. Belgium (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of vulcanised rubber thread imports to Greece, together accounting for 73% of total imports. Turkey, Thailand, China, Italy and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.
