El Salvador (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 13% share.

In value terms, Honduras ($X) remains the key foreign market for flaked or rolled cereals exports from Guatemala, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by El Salvador ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Costa Rica, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Honduras totaled +3.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: El Salvador (+10.1% per year) and Costa Rica (+14.2% per year).

The average flaked or rolled cereal export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -14.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 9.2% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Honduras ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+10.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of flaked or rolled cereals, when their volume decreased by -38.4% to X tons. In general, imports, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 134%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell significantly in the following year.
In value terms, flaked or rolled cereal imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 169%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
