Vietnam (X tons) was the main destination for pistachio exports from Hong Kong SAR, with a 58% share of total exports. Moreover, pistachio exports to Vietnam exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X tons), fourfold. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 15% share.

The average pistachio export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, declining by -10.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last decade. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 51%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, pistachio imports dropped remarkably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a precipitous contraction.
