Over the period under review, total exports indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -21.4% against 2018 indices. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Czech Republic ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by France, with a 9.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Austria stood at +15.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Czech Republic (+3.5% per year) and France (+4.1% per year).

The average apple juice export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 11% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a noticeable decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous year. Apple juice imports into Hungary soared to X tons in 2021, increasing by 18% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports saw a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 44%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, apple juice imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Poland (X tons), Austria (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of apple juice imports to Hungary, with a combined 85% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, which accounted for a further 12%.
