Germany (X units), China (X units) and Romania (X units) were the main destinations of automotive lighting exports from Hungary, with a combined 46% share of total exports. The UK, Russia, Austria, Slovakia, the United States, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Mexico, the Netherlands and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 37%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +174.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In 2021, the amount of automotive lighting imported into Hungary amounted to X units, rising by 8.3% compared with the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 87%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
