The Hungarian bone glue and gelatin market declined remarkably to $X in 2022, falling by -26.9% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 14%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Bulgaria (X tons) was the main destination for bone glue and gelatin exports from Hungary, with a 39% share of total exports. Moreover, bone glue and gelatin exports to Bulgaria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), twofold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Bulgaria totaled +53.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (-6.9% per year) and Poland (+3.5% per year).

In 2022, the amount of bone glues and gelatin imported into Hungary fell rapidly to X tons, waning by -32.1% against 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 307%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, bone glue and gelatin imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed buoyant growth.
