In value terms, carbon brush exports expanded modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, saw resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 55%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Austria (X tons) was the main destination for carbon brush exports from Hungary, with a 38% share of total exports. Moreover, carbon brush exports to Austria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Germany (X tons), with a 9.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Austria totaled +14.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+68.9% per year) and Germany (+8.4% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for carbon brush exported from Hungary were Austria ($X), Germany ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 60% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, China, with a CAGR of +59.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Carbon brush imports into Hungary declined modestly to X tons in 2021, which is down by -2.9% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 37%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, carbon brush imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 27%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, Austria (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of carbon brush to Hungary, accounting for a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, carbon brush imports from Austria exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by South Korea (X tons), with a 4.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Austria amounted to +6.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-17.7% per year) and South Korea (+179.5% per year).

In value terms, Austria ($X), Germany ($X) and the UK ($X) constituted the largest carbon brush suppliers to Hungary, with a combined 74% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Italy, South Korea and Spain, which together accounted for a further 16%.
