In general, consumption enjoyed a buoyant increase. Consumption of peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Exports from Hungary
In 2021, exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X mpa from Hungary fell markedly to X tons, which is down by -51.1% compared with 2020. Over the period under review, exports saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 53% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports of failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa fell remarkably to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a noticeable descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 194%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced notably in the following year.

Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Slovakia stood at -11.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Romania (+2.7% per year) and Germany (-2.6% per year).
In value terms, Romania ($X), Germany ($X) and Slovakia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa exported from Hungary worldwide, with a combined 51% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Ukraine, Austria, China, Croatia, Switzerland, Belgium, the UK, Serbia, France and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further 39%.
The UK, with a CAGR of +174.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Hungary
For the tenth year in a row, Hungary recorded growth in purchases abroad of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa, which increased by 6.9% to X tons in 2021. Overall, imports saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 36%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, imports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 45%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Switzerland (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa to Hungary, together accounting for 58% of total imports. Slovakia, Austria, China, Poland, the Czech Republic and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 30%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Poland (with a CAGR of +86.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The second position in the ranking was held by Switzerland ($X), with a 9% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany totaled +10.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Switzerland (+16.6% per year) and Italy (+7.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average import price for flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ X MPa stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Switzerland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
