In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 122% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Romania (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main destinations of acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives exports from Hungary, together comprising 68% of total exports.

Imports into Hungary
In 2021, the amount of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons imported into Hungary surged to X tons, growing by 21% on the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 105%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 167%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, the Netherlands (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives to Hungary, with a 35% share of total imports. Moreover, acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), threefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Netherlands was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-15.1% per year) and China (-6.4% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of fluorinated, brominated or iodinated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons to Hungary, comprising 65% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 7.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 5.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from the Netherlands totaled +17.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-24.3% per year) and Poland (+109.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average acyclic hydrocarbons derivatives import price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed a temperate increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 77% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Sweden ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
