In value terms, baby food exports expanded to $X in 2021. In general, total exports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +81.8% against 2016 indices. In value terms, Germany ($X), Croatia ($X) and Romania ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for baby food exported from Hungary worldwide, together comprising 58% of total exports. These countries were followed by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Serbia and Turkey, which together accounted for a further 31%.
Among the main countries of destination, the Czech Republic, with a CAGR of +36.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.
