Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, fresh chicken cut imports rose significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 101% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Ukraine (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main suppliers of fresh chicken cut imports to Hungary, with a combined 73% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Romania (with a CAGR of +79.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
