As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) expanded sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 164%. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Romania (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Lithuania (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) from Hungary, together accounting for 54% of total exports. Latvia, Germany, Estonia, Slovakia and Croatia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Latvia (with a CAGR of +404.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Romania ($X), Lithuania ($X) and the Czech Republic ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for internal combustion engine (excl. diesel, moto vehicle and aircraft) exported from Hungary worldwide, together accounting for 59% of total exports. Imports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) into Hungary contracted significantly to X tons in 2021, which is down by -70.9% compared with 2020 figures. In general, imports recorded a precipitous descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of internal combustion engines, excluding diesel (other than for motor vehicles and aircraft) dropped dramatically to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed a abrupt curtailment. Overall, the import price recorded a resilient increase. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
