Over the period under review, exports showed a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 153%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, overhead travelling crane exports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a buoyant increase. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 34%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 250% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, overhead travelling crane imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 312% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then declined notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2022, Germany (X units) constituted the largest overhead travelling crane supplier to Hungary, accounting for a 71% share of total imports. Moreover, overhead travelling crane imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Turkey (X units), threefold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany amounted to +9.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+47.6% per year) and France (+10.4% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of overhead travelling cranes on fixed support to Hungary, comprising 70% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Turkey ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 5.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Germany amounted to +4.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Turkey (+77.1% per year) and France (+36.5% per year).

In 2022, the average overhead travelling crane import price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -20.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price showed a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Austria ($X per unit) and Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Turkey ($X per unit) and France ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
