In 2021, shipments abroad of pile-drivers and pile-extractors decreased by -91.6% to X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports faced a abrupt setback. The smallest decline of -73.7% was in 2013. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2020, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, pile-driver exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports saw a dramatic slump. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Austria (X units), Germany (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) were the main destinations of pile-driver exports from Hungary, with a combined 71% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Austria (with a CAGR of +26.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of pile-drivers and pile-extractors, when their volume decreased by -77.4% to X units. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 15,375%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, pile-driver imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 10,072% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

Sweden (X units), Austria (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main suppliers of pile-driver imports to Hungary, together comprising 84% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Sweden (with a CAGR of +208.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest pile-driver suppliers to Hungary were Austria ($X), Sweden ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 82% share of total imports.

From 2017 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
