In value terms, polyacetals exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports posted measured growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 97% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main destinations of polyacetals exports from Hungary, with a combined 58% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the Czech Republic (with a CAGR of +122.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +106.6% against 2015 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, polyacetals imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of polyacetals imports to Hungary, together accounting for 83% of total imports. Austria, South Korea, Romania, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 13%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +84.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of polyacetals in primary forms to Hungary, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 19% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with an 18% share.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
