In 2022, the Hungarian radiator market increased by 7.2% to $X, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In 2022, radiator exports from Hungary dropped dramatically to X tons, reducing by -16.4% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports continue to indicate a slight contraction. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, radiator exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Germany (X tons), Austria (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of radiator exports from Hungary, with a combined 73% share of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +2.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 32%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +39.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.

In 2022, Turkey (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of radiator to Hungary, with a 75% share of total imports. Moreover, radiator imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), ninefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Germany (X tons), with a 3.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Turkey totaled +6.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+3.0% per year) and Germany (+3.6% per year).
