In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 59%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, textile rubber hose exports dropped rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 34%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for textile rubber hose exports from Hungary, with a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, textile rubber hose exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, China (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Slovakia (X tons), with an 8.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany amounted to -3.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: China (+9.3% per year) and Slovakia (+30.2% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for textile rubber hose exported from Hungary were China ($X), Germany ($X) and Romania ($X), together accounting for 67% of total exports. These countries were followed by Slovakia, Spain, Serbia, Turkey, Belgium, the UK, France, the Netherlands and the United States, which together accounted for a further 21%.

Turkey, with a CAGR of +142.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced descent. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of rubber hose reinforced with textiles was finally on the rise to reach X tons after four years of decline. In general, imports recorded pronounced growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 80%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, textile rubber hose imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 57%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest textile rubber hose supplier to Hungary, with a 46% share of total imports. Moreover, textile rubber hose imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Slovenia (X tons), with a 7.1% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Germany totaled +4.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+10.6% per year) and Slovenia (+22.8% per year).

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany amounted to +5.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Slovenia (+27.7% per year) and Poland (+7.3% per year).
