In value terms, paper bag exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 24%. Slovakia (X tons) was the main destination for paper bag exports from Hungary, accounting for a 29% share of total exports. Austria (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of paper bag imports to Hungary, with a combined 48% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Romania, Slovakia, Croatia, China, the Czech Republic, Italy, Serbia, the Netherlands and France, which together accounted for a further 45%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +33.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), Austria ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the largest paper bag suppliers to Hungary, with a combined 56% share of total imports.
