Silencer Market Size in Hungary

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was decline in the Hungarian silencer market, when its value decreased by -4% to $X. Overall, the total consumption indicated a noticeable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the last nine years. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, silencer exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. These countries were followed by the Czech Republic, Romania, the Netherlands, France, Mexico and the UK, which together accounted for a further 34%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Mexico, with a CAGR of +156.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average silencer export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 7.6% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 22% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Silencer imports into Hungary dropped slightly to X tons in 2021, which is down by -2.3% on the previous year. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, silencer imports totaled $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
