The exports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports reduced to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for rubber tube and pipe exports from Hungary, accounting for a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Brazil (X tons), with a 5.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Germany totaled -6.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (-2.5% per year) and Brazil (+36.3% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber exports from Hungary, comprising 37% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the UK ($X), with a 6.2% share of total exports. It was followed by the United States, with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany stood at -6.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (-0.9% per year) and the United States (-5.2% per year).

The average rubber tube and pipe export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 17% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports into Hungary
In 2021, supplies from abroad of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber increased by 5.2% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after three years of decline. In general, imports posted a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 350%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, imports showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 37%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of rubber tube and pipe to Hungary, with a 34% share of total imports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X tons), threefold. The Czech Republic (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.9% share.
