Watermelon Market Size in Hungary

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 29% against the previous year. In general, imports, however, recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 82% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped notably in the following year.

Greece (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of watermelon imports to Hungary, together comprising 63% of total imports. Albania, Turkey, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 34%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +184.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
