The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 98%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Germany (X units) was the main destination for wooden office furniture exports from Hungary, with a 67% share of total exports. Moreover, wooden office furniture exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X units), sevenfold. Overall, imports, however, faced a deep contraction. Imports peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, wooden office furniture imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 35%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Poland (X units) constituted the largest supplier of wooden office furniture to Hungary, with a 45% share of total imports. Moreover, wooden office furniture imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), threefold. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Poland totaled +12.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-3.4% per year) and Austria (-2.5% per year).
