Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, crude soybean oil imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.

Argentina (X tons), Brazil (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of crude soybean oil imports to India, together accounting for 89% of total imports.
