Bangladesh (X units), Egypt (X units) and Sri Lanka (X units) were the main destinations of ignition magneto exports from India, with a combined 41% share of total exports. Nepal, Nigeria, Colombia, Sudan, Romania, Slovenia, China, Italy, Peru and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 37%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Nepal (with a CAGR of +123.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for ignition magneto exported from India were Bangladesh ($X), Egypt ($X) and Sri Lanka ($X), with a combined 38% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, Peru, Nepal, Colombia, Slovenia, Nigeria, the Philippines, China, Sudan and Romania, which together accounted for a further 34%.

The average ignition magneto export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 2.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a perceptible decrease. Imports into India

After three years of decline, supplies from abroad of ignition magnetos, magneto-dynamos and magnetic flywheels increased by 47% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 193% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, ignition magneto imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 125% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Japan (X units), China (X units) and Indonesia (X units) were the main suppliers of ignition magneto imports to India, together accounting for 95% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Indonesia (with a CAGR of +138.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
