In 2022, supplies from abroad of industrial machinery for the manufacture or preparation of sugar increased by 41% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, imports, however, faced a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 210%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, sugar-manufacturing industrial machinery imports amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 157% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
