In 2022, the amount of molasses (excluding cane molasses) imported into India declined sharply to X tons, waning by -20.2% against 2021 figures. Overall, imports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 534% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-cane molasses imports declined markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 494% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Bangladesh (X tons) was the main non-cane molasses supplier to India, with a approx. 99.9% share of total imports.
