The Indian mould for glass market dropped to $X in 2021, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, the total consumption indicated a buoyant increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, consumption increased by +2.9% against 2019 indices. Mould for glass consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
Mould For Glass Production in India
In value terms, mould for glass production shrank slightly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. In general, the total production indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production decreased by +1.0% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the production volume increased by 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from India
In 2021, exports of moulds for glass from India rose remarkably to X units, surging by 8.1% against the year before. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 161% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, mould for glass exports expanded markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Sri Lanka (X units), the United States (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) were the main destinations of mould for glass exports from India, with a combined 72% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +79.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Sri Lanka ($X), the United Arab Emirates ($X) and the United States ($X) constituted the largest markets for mould for glass exported from India worldwide, together accounting for 79% of total exports.
The United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +68.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average mould for glass export price amounted to $X per unit, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw modest growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 84%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (+19.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Mould For Glass Imports
Imports into India
In 2021, purchases abroad of moulds for glass increased by 8.4% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 105% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
In value terms, mould for glass imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 86%. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of mould for glass to India, with a 78% share of total imports. Moreover, mould for glass imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), sevenfold. Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+37.9% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+13.7% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of moulds for glass to India, comprising 64% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to -8.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+21.8% per year) and Thailand (+35.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average mould for glass import price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 31% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a deep slump. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (-5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
