The United States (X units) was the main destination for non-electrical lamp exports from India, accounting for a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, non-electrical lamp exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X units), fourfold. The second position in the ranking was held by the UK ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 5.5% share.

In 2021, overseas purchases of non-electrical lamps and lighting fittings were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 65%. Imports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-electrical lamp imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 84%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
