In 2021, the average preserved olive export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 92% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a precipitous descent. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2013 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nepal (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into India
Preserved olive imports into India skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, growing by 92% on the previous year. In general, imports showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 181% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, preserved olive imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a resilient expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Spain (X tons) constituted the largest preserved olive supplier to India, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, preserved olive imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Egypt (X tons), twofold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Spain stood at +25.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Egypt (+107.7% per year) and Morocco (+10.9% per year).
In value terms, Spain ($X) constituted the largest supplier of olives prepared or preserved to India, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Egypt ($X), with a 25% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Spain stood at +14.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Egypt (+131.3% per year) and Morocco (+18.5% per year).

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 18% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
