In general, total exports indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -0.5% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aromatic monoamines exports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +18.9% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 97%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

China (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main destinations of aromatic monoamines exports from India, with a combined 63% share of total exports. Japan, South Korea, Turkey, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Taiwan (Chinese), Thailand and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 25%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by South Korea (with a CAGR of +25.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($X), China ($X) and the Netherlands ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for aromatic monoamines exported from India worldwide, with a combined 51% share of total exports. Germany, Japan, Turkey, Switzerland, Taiwan (Chinese), South Korea, Thailand and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 22%.

In 2021, the average aromatic monoamines export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, aromatic monoamines export price increased by +30.5% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 49% against the previous year. In 2021, approx. X tons of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof were imported into India; jumping by 16% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.2% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 17%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, aromatic monoamines imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of aromatic monoamines to India, accounting for a 70% share of total imports.
