As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.

These countries were followed by the United States, Qatar, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Belgium, Iran and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 41%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Belgium (with a CAGR of +15.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest polyethylene with a specific gravity of less than X suppliers to India were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Singapore ($X), together comprising 47% of total imports. These countries were followed by Qatar, the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Belgium, the Netherlands and Iran, which together accounted for a further 41%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Belgium, with a CAGR of +13.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average import price for polyethylene with a specific gravity of less than X, in primary forms amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 42% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per ton), while the price for Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
