Indonesia (X tons) was the main destination for cattle hide and skin exports from India, accounting for a 38% share of total exports. Moreover, cattle hide and skin exports to Indonesia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Bangladesh (X tons), threefold. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.1% share.

Saudi Arabia (X tons), Argentina (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of cattle hide and skin imports to India, with a combined 30% share of total imports. Yemen, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Israel, Poland, France, the UK, Oman and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Israel (with a CAGR of +57.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest cattle hide and skin suppliers to India were Saudi Arabia ($X), Italy ($X) and Argentina ($X), together accounting for 28% of total imports.
