Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, safety headgear imports contracted modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 40%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

Imports by Country

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of safety headgear to India, with a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, safety headgear imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +20.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (+0.2% per year) and the United States (-7.8% per year).
