In 2022, the amount of candies, sweets, and nonchocolate confectionery imported into India declined notably to X tons, falling by -22.2% on 2021. In general, imports, however, showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 68% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
