The Indian television receiver market shrank significantly to $X in 2022, reducing by -31.8% against the previous year. Overall, consumption continues to indicate a drastic downturn. The United States (X units), Singapore (X units) and Canada (X units) were the main destinations of television receiver exports from India, with a combined 63% share of total exports. Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, France and Sri Lanka lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 34%.

The average television receiver export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, flattening at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into India
In 2022, supplies from abroad of television receivers decreased by -56.5% to X units, falling for the sixth consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports recorded a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, television receiver imports declined notably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 23%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Vietnam (X units), China (X units) and Thailand (X units) were the main suppliers of television receiver imports to India, together comprising 85% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +7.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X) constituted the largest supplier of television receivers to India, comprising 38% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 12% share.
