These countries were followed by Singapore, Nepal, Bhutan, Turkey, the Netherlands, Thailand, Germany and the UK, which together accounted for a further 18%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +265.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons exported from India were Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), China ($X) and Belgium ($X), together accounting for 64% of total exports. These countries were followed by Singapore, Bhutan, Turkey, Nepal, the Netherlands, the UK, Germany and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 15%.

Over the period under review, the export price recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 95%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 22%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted sharply in the following year.

In value terms, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports totaled $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons supplier to India, accounting for a 45% share of total imports. Moreover, unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Qatar (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Saudi Arabia (X tons), with an 11% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United States amounted to +7.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Qatar (-7.3% per year) and Saudi Arabia (-4.3% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X), China ($X) and Qatar ($X) appeared to be the largest unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons suppliers to India, with a combined 61% share of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (Chinese) and Israel, which together accounted for a further 30%.

Singapore, with a CAGR of +103.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average unsaturated acyclic hydrocarbons import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a noticeable slump. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
