In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of cherries and sour cherries, when their volume decreased by -33.6% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 372%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, Australia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of cherries and sour cherries to Indonesia, comprising 78% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 6% share of total imports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 3.9% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Australia amounted to +114.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Canada (+71.4% per year) and Turkey (+122.3% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average cherry and sour cherry import price amounted to $X per ton, jumping by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price posted a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 36% against the previous year.
