Common Clay Market Size in Indonesia

In 2022, the Indonesian common clay market increased by 0.4% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +38.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average common clay export price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -4.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 72% against the previous year. In value terms, common clay imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +137.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 103% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
