From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Australia stood at +13.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Thailand (+25.3% per year) and Timor-Leste (-20.2% per year).

In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the key foreign market for concrete reinforcing bars exports from Indonesia, comprising 69% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Thailand ($X), with a 15% share of total exports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 4.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Australia amounted to +14.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Thailand (+22.7% per year) and Malaysia (-9.0% per year).

In 2022, the average concrete reinforcing bar export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 5.7% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. Overall, total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +89.3% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 42% against the previous year. In value terms, Japan ($X) constituted the largest supplier of concrete reinforcing bars to Indonesia, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Japan was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+4.3% per year) and South Korea (+8.0% per year).

In general, the import price continues to indicate a pronounced downturn.
