The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 156% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

Malaysia (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Sri Lanka (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved fish fillet exports from Indonesia, together accounting for 69% of total exports.

For the fourth consecutive year, Indonesia recorded growth in purchases abroad of fish fillets (dried, salted or in brine, but not smoked), which increased by 243% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 851%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, preserved fish fillet imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 269%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
